On January 6, 2015, We Received EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) Approval (Approval Notice) for a Research and Development Chemist in the Field of Chemistry

General Field: Polymer Chemistry
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research & Development Chemist
Country of Origin: Nepal
Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Michigan
Approval Notice Date: January 6th, 2015
Processing Time: 5 Months, 22 Days

Case Summary:
In this case we were offered the opportunity to work with a Nepalese chemist doing research & development work, who had focused specifically on using chemistry to synthesize and develop new materials for a variety of applications, from green chemistry to advanced polymer composite materials, and contributed to research work for the development of carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced thermoset material. As part of our successful strategy for our client’s case, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, which included 2 peer-reviewed journals articles and 10 conference papers and presentations.  This work had received at least 31 citations by the time we filed his case, nearly all of which were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating the wide recognition of and reliance upon our client’s work in his field. We also showed that his continued employment in his field would benefit both his field as a whole and the people of the United States in general. An independent recommender confirmed the importance of his work: “[Client’s] ingenuity and methodical testing revealed a novel replacement reagent for transitional metals in this process and this is testament to his value as a scientific mind.  [Client] here has applied the considerable strength of his skillset in a way that has given the field the first step in removing a major obstacle in environmentally proofing a process ubiquitous to chemical manufacturing the world over.” We successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in five months and twenty-two days.
