Case Summary:
Here we were able to work with a cardiology fellow from India who focused on research related to heart failure. We demonstrated that his continued employment in his field would benefit the field of cardiology as well as the people of the United States in general. For our client’s petition to be approved, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to the field, including his 15 peer-reviewed scientific articles and numerous conference presentations; his body of work had received 52 citations at the time we filed his case from independent researchers around the globe, indicating the wide recognition his work has received and the broad reliance upon it in his field. An independent recommender testified to the importance of our client’s work: “[Client] revealed valuable insights regarding the occurrence of heart failure hospitalizations, death rates, and risk factors for this population. Among these unique findings, he discovered that less than half of heart failure patients were admitted with a correct diagnosis over 13 years of follow up. These findings also have important implications in reducing health care costs and preserving resources.” Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in just thirty-three days.
