Case Summary:
A gifted postdoctoral scientist from India hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him navigate the perplexing green card process. As a result of Premium Processing, our firm’s diligent efforts, and our client’s strong credentials, the USCIS granted their approval merely eight days after we filed the EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) case on our client’s behalf. We would like to congratulate our client on this joyous occasion.
As part of our services, we advised our client to reach out to other prominent chemists in his field and ask for recommendation letters. Six chemists provided us with strong testimonials that attested to the quality and necessity of our client’s research ventures. We included these letters into our EB-1A petition packet and submitted it as additional evidence to the USCIS. Here are several quotes taken from a handful of these letters:
“[Client’s] efforts into drug discovery are of great importance to the national interests of the United States because they have resulted in vast improvements to our ability to treat both cancer and cystic fibrosis … By developing a drug that can treat the most malignant and therapy-resistant cancers, [Client] has provided an easily affordable and highly effective alternative to more expensive forms of treatment.”
“Because [Client] performs research for biomedical applications, it is easy to understand the value of his work. It saves lives and prevents suffering. His scientific research work has great value, and should therefore continue to receive every possible support.”
“Based on this history of success, which has made him a leader in biomedical research, there is no doubt that [Client’s] work will continue to produce such remarkable results.”
Alongside these recommendation letters were detailed accounts of our client’s professional feats: His 9 scientific articles and 9 abstracts that had amassed 132 citations, and the 22 times he conducted peer reviews. We also chronicled his research on developing new therapies for cancer, cystic fibrosis, and tuberculosis and demonstrated the importance of his findings to the overall health of Americans.
What is Premium Processing?
Premium Processing (PP) is an option that is only offered to EB-1 petitioners. On average, the USCIS spends between 4-9 months adjudicating regular I-140 cases but for cases filed under PP, officers will review them in roughly 15 days. Petitioners have to pay the USCIS an additional $1,225 on top of all other filing fees. Despite the fee, PP is a good option for petitioners unwilling or unable to wait up to nine months for a decision from the USCIS.
