Case Summary:
An instructor engaged in the field of medical hematology approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him get a green card. Our client, who obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from a top university in his birth country of India, had strong credentials to file his case under the EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) visa category.
Case Strategy:
As with all our cases, we advised our client to contact specialists in his field to gather recommendation letters. The handful of letters that our client gathered served as evidence that his work is valued by not just him, but numerous others in the field. One of his recommenders had this to say about his work: “[Client] has produced some of the most significant research to date regarding the pathways involved in those processes, and his ongoing research is providing information for the improvement of leukemia treatment strategies, in addition to providing breakthrough information on stem cell behavior and mechanisms of immunodeficiency disease…”
Besides recommendation letters, our EB-2 NIW petition packet consisted of data verifying our client’s 14 published papers, 29 instances of peer review service, and the 191 citations collected from his work. We also included careful accounts of our client’s work in the field, namely on stem cell biology and cancer biology and on the development of novel therapeutic strategies to cure leukemia. We demonstrated that our client’s findings directly relate to the United States healthcare sector, and that further advancements to his work will greatly benefit the overall wellbeing of Americans. According to another one of our client’s recommenders: “[Client’s] research is ongoing in this area and its continuation is essential in order to explore the healthy development of the immune system, the origin and evolution of therapy resistance in leukemia, and thus the maintenance of health in people.”
Case Outcome:
We are pleased that TSC was persuaded by our EB-2 NIW presentation and our client’s strong credentials. It only took them a month and a half to grant their approval (the average processing time is between 4-9 months). We would like to congratulate our client on this occasion, and we wish him well as he continues to progress the field of medical hematology.
