Case Summary:
North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) was hired by a postdoctoral research fellow from Iran to file an I-140 petition (first step in green card proceedings) on his behalf. Our client’s Ph.D. in Physics, his 18 published journal articles, the 204 citations to his work, and his years of experience in the field of physics made him a suitable candidate to file his case under EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver).
As part of our strategy, we thoroughly accounted for our client’s many research projects on nanotechnology, electron microscopy and electron tomography. We proved that his development of magnetic nanoscopic devices to deliver cancer drugs and methods to investigate complex multi-layered hybrid nanomaterial systems contributes to the United States’ ability to diagnose and study various diseases. An expert physicist, whose recommendation letter we included in our NIW petition packet, had this to say about the importance of our client’s work: “The abilities of [Client] have gone a long way toward revolutionizing cancer therapies and further aiding humanity in its struggle against a malicious disease that assaults us without mercy. Cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for nearly one out of every four deaths in this country. Cancer research is a battleground where the medical community must not only worry about how to halt the fatalities, but also how to render aid to the survivors.” This letter, and several others that our client obtained, were submitted to the USCIS alongside other evidence illustrating our client’s distinguished standing in his field.
Our client is now eligible to apply for Immigrant Visa Processing (IVP), which is the final step in the green card process for applicants living outside the United States. Once this is approved, our client and his dependents may enter the United States as permanent residents. Our firm wishes him and his wife all the best with this process.
