“Chronic pain afflicts millions of Americans and available therapies are woefully inadequate […] The work of [Client’s] is an important contribution toward the goal of finding therapies with greater efficacy and with reduced, or no risk, of addiction.”
The quote is excerpted from a testimonial contributed by an expert in the field of pharmacology. Our client, a postdoctoral research fellow from China, obtained this letter and several others to strengthen her EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition dossier. Besides these letters of support, North America Immigration Law Group also included demonstrations of our client’s influence in her field. We documented 171 citations to her 21 published papers and included examples of the 12 reviews that she completed for more than half a dozen scientific journals. Most importantly, we described our client’s research efforts on the causes of chronic pain and how to treat it. We proved that her work improves the lifetime of key diabetes 2 medications, determines the mechanisms that lead to morphine analgesic tolerance and pain hypersensitivity states, and outlines the changes that the nervous system goes through after nerve injuries. Our EB-1A petition dossier firmly established the value of our client’s findings to the medical and scientific areas in the United States.
At our client’s request, our firm upgraded her I-140 to be adjudicated under Premium Processing almost five months after we filed her case. The USCIS granted their approval two weeks later. As our client chose to file her I-485 (final step in the green card process) while her I-140 was pending, she is currently awaiting her second approval notice. We wish her the best in obtaining her permanent residency.
