Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group was hired by a postdoctoral research fellow to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on her behalf. Our client, who is from Taiwan, has a Ph.D. in Genetic, Molecular, and Cellular Biology and is currently working in the field of cancer biology. Her 7 published papers had been cited 207 times when we filed the case. In our EB-2 NIW petition dossier, we meticulously described our client’s groundbreaking projects and established their significance to the United States. For instance, her findings on molecular and genetic research in pediatric cancers are contributing to the country’s healthcare system.
Our I-140 petition packet also included recommendation letters volunteered by several expert cancer biologists. Among other things, these letters supported our claim that not many other researchers with similar qualifications can accomplish what our client has. One of these letters stated, in part, that “Her research has fostered a deeper understanding in the scientific community about the development and characteristics of bone and other cancers and I am certain she will continue to make breakthroughs in cancer research for decades to come.”
The USCIS spent a little over five months adjudicating our client’s I-140. We recently filed her I-485 application and we wish her the best in the final step toward obtaining her green card.
