Case Summary:

A computer science lecturer from China recently hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on his behalf. Our client is developing robot system software, simulation systems, social robotics, machine learning algorithms, and wearable robotics.
With a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 12 publications that had amassed over 60 citations at the time of filing, and 52 instances of peer review service, our client had the appropriate credentials to file his I-140 (first step in the green card process) under EB-2 NIW. Our legal team carefully demonstrated that our client’s work directly contributes to advanced applications of technology in industrial, academic, and personal settings. Additionally, we proved that his research efforts benefit the United States’ national security and law enforcement, particularly through the development of improved methods of automated computer vision.
To further fortify this NIW petition, we encouraged our client to reach out to expert computer scientists for recommendation letters. The six letters that we obtained were included in the petition packet and submitted to the USCIS. One of the letters stated, in part, that “[Client] has been recognized as a true pioneer in the field, providing new systems that ensure the success of different robot systems. Many researchers have relied upon his innovations, and I am quite positive that he will only grow stronger in his influence and impact as time goes on.”
The USCIS spent nearly four months adjudicating this case, and we are pleased that they agreed with our presentation and conclusively granted their approval. We join our client in celebrating this occasion.
