Case Summary:

An optical physicist from China hired North America Immigration Law Group to file an EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers) on his behalf. His employer, a private startup, agreed to be the petitioner. Our client, who has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, researches optical properties in light-emitting diodes (LEDs). We proved that his work improves LED semiconductor technology for lighting and display applications not only in the United States, but around the world.
We put together a comprehensive EB-1B petition packet that highlighted our client’s accomplishments. Among other things, our petition was comprised of information on our client’s research projects, his 12 published papers, and 137 citations. We also demonstrated our client’s influence in his field of materials engineering by detailing the 21 times he conducted peer reviews. As with all our clients, we helped him select experts in his field who would offer convincing testimonials to reinforce his I-140 petition. One of these experts wrote, “Globally, hundreds of tons of LED-use silicone encapsulants are purchased each year, suggesting [Client’s] work is globally relevant and seriously significant. Furthermore, his continued efforts in producing work of this type must be treated as a priority in the United States […] an advanced-level scientist whose qualifications and expertise have propelled him to the front of his field and guarantee the continued utility of his research.”
Our client chose to upgrade his EB-1B petition to Premium Processing less than a month after we filed his case; the USCIS granted their approval 11 days later. We thank our client for choosing North America Immigration Law Group to represent him.
